China’s top diplomat, Wang Yi, has called on Japan to address what Beijing views as inappropriate remarks and actions by Japanese leaders regarding Taiwan. During a meeting in Beijing with Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade, Wang emphasized the need for Japan to adopt a more objective and rational approach toward China and to handle historical issues with care.

Wang highlighted the importance of maintaining the political foundation of China-Japan relations and urged Japan to respect historical lessons. He emphasized the necessity for Japan to remain committed to peaceful development and to avoid actions that could further strain bilateral ties between the two nations.
