China Calls on India to Uphold Border Agreements Amid Renewed Tensions

by admin477351

China has called on India to adhere to bilateral border agreements and collaborate in maintaining peace along their disputed border, following reports of renewed tensions between the two nations. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized Beijing’s commitment to existing agreements and understandings with India, noting that China’s routine patrols and border management activities are intended to protect its territorial sovereignty and ensure stability in the border regions.

The appeal comes amidst reports of another standoff along the China-India border. An Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson attributed such incidents to deviations by Chinese troops from established patrolling patterns. In response, Guo highlighted the ongoing communication between the two countries through diplomatic and military channels to address border-related issues, urging India to work with China in implementing the previously reached understandings and taking practical measures to prevent further tensions.

Maintaining peace and tranquillity along the border remains a significant challenge for both China and India as they seek to manage territorial disputes through dialogue and established communication mechanisms. The situation underscores the importance of cooperation and adherence to agreements to avoid escalation and ensure stability in the region.
